Poppy is a whippet cross girl of around 10 years old. She stands 23 inches floor to shoulder.
She is a friendly girl who loves both humans and other dogs.
She is very gentle and is great with children of all ages but being an older lady probably wouldn’t be happy living with very young children full time.
Poppy is house trained and will ask to go out.
On walks she will only pull if she sees something of interest.
She has a strong prey drive very much wants to chase wildlife, including birds, and is not cat safe.
Recall is very limited and with her high prey drive this is unlikely to improve much.
Poppy is fine being left and could be left for 4 hours at a time.
Her foster carer describes her as an affectionate and kind dog who enjoys her walks but equally loves cuddles on the sofa.
We have been advised that Poppy had a mammory tumour removed before coming into our care. She currently has no further symptoms but Hounds First will cover any issues regarding this should there be a recurrence.
