Guinness is a male 6 year old greyhound. He stands 30 inches to the shoulder.
He was homed by Hounds First at the age of 2 after coming into rescue from the race track. Due to an unforeseen change in circumstances he has had to come back into our care and is now looking for a new sofa to call his own.
Guinness is a gorgeous laid back lad who loves his people, other dogs and his walks.
He walks beautifully on a relaxed lead.
Recall has not been fully tested but he comes when is name is called in the house or garden.
He will need the company of at least one other dog in his new home and would like one that will play with him. Despite his increasing years, Guinness enjoys boisterous play.
Guinness is house trained but may have the odd accident when transitioning to a new home. He may also need encouragment to get off his bed to go out especialy when its raining!
He does show some interest in wildlife and being an ex racer this is to be expected. He cannot be homed with a cat.
Again, being an ex racer, he does fret a little around small dogs and his new owner would need to be aware of this.
Guinness is a lovely gentle dog but can get over excited in play and due to his size he could knock a small child over. He likes to lean and will side swipe with his bum and whippy tail! We feel he would be best suited to a home with children aged 10 and over.
He can be left for up to 4 hours at a time but on moving to a new home will need time to settle before being left for this long as he did suffer from some separation anxiety when he first came into foster.
So, if you would like a big goofy lovable, slightly clumsy, greyhound in your life – Guinness could be the one!
