Cindy is a gentle lurcher girl of around 8 years old. She stands approximately 22 inches floor to shoulder.
She is affectionate, adores humans and loves attention.
Out and about she is a discerning lady who is fine with other dogs as long as greetings are polite. She is currently in foster with another dog. We feel she would be equally happy as an only dog so long as she gets plenty of human attention.
She walks nicely on the lead and enjoys a good sniffing walk.
Her recall in the home and garden is good so this shows potential for being transferred to other outside spaces given time and positive reward based training. We would not expect a dog to be off lead in an unsecure area until fully settled and a totally secure recall established.
She travels fine in the car.
Cindy does show some interest in chasing wildlife. She may pull on the lead when she sees something exciting.
She shows a very strong interest in chasing cats. We would not home Cindy with a cat.
She is house trained and will show that she wants to go out by being restless. This is something that may of course go backwards initially in a new home whilst she settles and learns new routines.
Cindy is currently left for two hours or so at time. She would need time to settle into her new home before being left regularly and then have the time built up gradually.
She has not been tested with cats and our foster carer does not have the facilities to do so. In view of this, and her interest in squirrels, we would not be happy to home her with a cat.
