Chief

Chief

  • Chief is a handsome 9 year old saluki cross boy who stands 19 inches floor to shoulder.  He is thought to be a saluki x whippet.
  • Please don’t be deceived by his age; Chief is a fit, healthy and active boy with plenty of life left in him and love to give.
  • He enjoys his walks and walks nicely on the lead.
  • He also seems to have good recall (for yummy treats).  We would not expect him to be left off lead in a new home until fully settled and a secure recall tested in secure areas first.
  • He adores fuss and attention (particularly bum scratches and ear strokes) and would make a fabulous companion.
  • Despite his love of fuss and attention, Chief is equally happy to be left and would be fine snoozing away while you are at work as long as arrangements are made to break up the day so that he isn’t left for more than 4 hours at a time.
  • He is house trained and will ask to go out.
  • Chief has previously lived with children and has met children whilst in foster too.  He would be fine homed with children of any age with sensible adults.
  • He is in foster happily with another dog and previously lived with other dogs.  We feel he would be equally happy as an only dog as long as he gets the attention he loves.
  • Out and about, Chief is good with other dogs he sees.  With proper introductions he makes friends.  He does not appreciate other dogs in his face or head on greetings (which is perfectly normal and who can blame him to be honest).
  • He loves everyone and is gentle and affectionate.
  • Chief does show an interest in chasing small furries but shows no interest in birds.  He is NOT cat tested and his interest in small furries makes him unlikely to be able to live with a cat.
  • Chief’s foster carer says ‘He loves his cuddles and likes to sit next to his human with a leg/paw on your leg or arm.  He has a little dance in the morning when its time to get up.  Grunts at you to get your attention!  Lovely, lovely dog’.
  • What’s not to love?
  • Chief is in foster near Daventry.
