Cadi

Cadi

  • Cadi is a lovely lurcher girl who who we think has collie in her mix.  She stands 23 inches floor to shoulder so isn’t very big at all bless her.
  • Cadi is approximately 4 years old.
  • She enjoys human company and home comforts and is keen to find that special sofa and family of her own.
  • Cadi is fine with children of all ages although does not currently live with children.  As with any dog, any children in the home would need to be sensible and understand boundaries.
  • She is house trained and will let you know when she wants to go out.
  • Her recall has only been tested in a secure area so far but is great.
  • She walks nicely on the lead and also enjoys a bit of running with her foster carer.
  • Once fully settled in her new home she could be left for up to 4 hours at a time.
  • Like many lurchers, Cadi does have a strong prey drive and would not be safe around small furries or off lead around wildlife.  She is not cat safe and we would not home her with a cat.
  • Although Cadi is in foster with another dog and gets on well with him, she is wary of unknown dogs (especially if they are off lead) and will need an adopter who is aware of the needs of a dog who may exhibit reactive behaviours.  Cadi will be homed with behavioural support in place to continue the great work her foster carer has been doing to help her to cope with seeing other dogs – she’ll never be a big fan though!
  • Cadi would be best homed in a rural or semi rural location where it is possible to give her the space to make positive choices and feel more comfortable if unknown dogs are around.  However, she is fearful of loud noises so an area where shooting takes place, or bird scarers are used, would not suit her.
  • Fences of 5 foot would be fine. She’s not a jumper.
  • Cadi is in foster in Corby, Northamptonshire.
