Winnie

Winnie

  • Winnie is a very pretty 7 month old female whippet x greyhound x deerhound.
  • Winnie will happily sit in the foster carers shop all day and loves the interaction with the people that come in.
  • She gets on well with her doggy foster brothers and sisters and loves playing bitey face and running around the garden with the other dogs.
  • She would be great in a household with other dogs to keep her company and children who are 10 years plus but they need to be dog savvy.
  • Winnie will need continued training to build up time left and on her recall. She is whining when left for more than short periods but improving with work.
  • She is a fantastic dog that has adapted really quickly and easily to being in foster – stunning looking girl who needs the time and effort put in to bringing her along.
  • She will need a garden with a 6ft fence.
  • Winnie comes when called in the garden – further recall will need work!
  • She walks really nicely on a harness – we would recommend her adopter carried on using a harness for her walking as she is not so good when walked on her collar. She is a pleasure to walk on harness.
  • Winnie knows a few commands already including sit, come, off and “be quick” to go for a wee before bed.
  • She has some interest in wildlife but is easily distracted – she hasn’t met any cats in foster.
  • She gets on great with all the dogs in the foster home and will listen to them when they tell her to back off when she gets to full on. She is good with the very small dogs in the home but can get a bit enthusiastic with them – there is no aggression it is enthusiastic puppy playfulness and would need to be monitored with any small dogs to make sure she did not annoy them.
  • Winnie could live with kids over 10 who are dog experienced – she is nervous around younger kids due to previous experiences.
  • She is a beautiful girl who is so eager to please and very quick to learn.
  • She could be cat trainable with the right person. We can try and further cat test if needed.
  • She is in foster in Wales not far from Abergavenny
