Scooby

Scooby

  • Scooby is a gorgeous 4 year old lurcher boy who stands about 27 inches to the shoulder.
  • He has been looking for his forever family for far too long.
  • He is currently staying at a very good kennels run by one of our rescue friends.  He deserves a home of his own.
  • He is a very special boy who needs a home with an experienced dog owner who understands canine behaviour and body language.
  • He is not good with small dogs but could possibly live with a calm female sighthound.
  • He is a complex character who has obviously had a difficult past and needs and owner that will respect his needs and fears and work with him to help him to feel safe and confident.
  • Out and about, Scooby needs to be given the space and time to take himself out of situations that he is not comfortable with.  This means both other humans and dogs.   If you are the sort of owner who enjoys a walk where you meet lots of dogs and their owners Scooby is not the dog for you!
  • Scooby takes a while to get to know new people but once he does he has a lot of love to give.  A potential adopter would need to visit him several times at the kennels (with the support of a behaviourist) to get to know him and earn his trust before taking him home.  We will also provide behavioural support when he gets to your home.  Once he knows you, he will give kisses and cuddles but this needs to be on his own terms.  A new owner needs to know when to give him space and make his own choices. He is well worth the work!
  • He is a clever boy who has been learning lots whilst working with a lovely behaviourist at the kennels.  He would love to show you his tricks!
  • Scooby cannot live with cats.
  • We would not home Scooby to a house where there are children or where children regularly visit.
Can you give Scooby a chance and get him out of kennels and into a home?
  • Scooby is currently in kennels in Hertfordshire.
