Ruby – Reserved

  • Ruby is a 14 week old female whippet lurcher. She is half whippet, 1/4 bearded collie and 1/4 greyhound. She weighs only 5-6kg at present and will likely be whippet size when grown.
  • Ruby struggles to be left at present for more than a 5/10 minutes with a tasty kong. She needs her adopter to be around and fully prepared to put plenty of effort into making her happy being left.
  • She will sleep happily in her crate over night and is clean in it from 10.30pm to about 6.30am. It has to be in the bedroom though or she cries.
  • Ruby loves cuddles and snuggles – once she is tired she will snuggle with you on the sofa and snooze the evening away.
  • She can live with other dogs – she is a cheeky monkey and needs to learn more doggy manners or live with tolerant adult dogs to show her the ropes. She loves playing with young friendly dogs.
  • She could live with dog savvy children over 6 – she can get over-excited and jump up and occasionally mouth although this is improving daily.
  • Ruby is lively and tenacious – she is very food motivated and trainable.
  • Her house training is coming on really well – she has started asking to go out but needs letting out regularly.
  • Ruby knows a good sit and her recall is coming along.
  • She could be trained to live with a bold cat with someone who knows how to train dogs to live with cats – she may try to tease it at first!
  • Ruby is very loving but she is suffering from being moved at such a young age and needs guidance and patience to help her become a settled adult.
  • She has been going out for nearly a week now and socialising – she loves going to the park and running with the other dogs. She is a little shy of new dogs at first but is gaining confidence daily. She enjoyed going to the pub and now likes meeting new people.
  • She will now travel quietly in the car fastened into the back seat. She is happy as long as she can see you.
  • Ruby is in foster near Slough.
  • We will require Ruby’s adopters to sign up for and take her to puppy training classes as part of the adoption contract.
