Ollie is a 20 month old saluki lurcher boy who stands approximately 27 inches to the shoulder
He has recently been returned to Hounds First and is looking for a foster home or a home who where he can be fostered with a view to adopting him
Ollie is house trained and walks nicely on the lead, preferring to wear a harness. However he has been known to get anxious/over excited when he meets some dogs and needs a calm confident handler who will help him to stay away from situations that might upset him
He gets on best with other sighthounds but is also getting to know other breeds too with calm introductions
He loves humans of all ages but would probably be best suited to a home without very small children as he may knock them over. He prefers to sleep near to his humans but is happy for this to be in his own bed nearby or on the landing
Ollie cannot be homed with cats and has a prey drive
With another dog for company, Ollie has been left for an hour and a half at a time. Once settled he has the potential to be left for longer
He travels well in the car, on buses and even boats!
Being a saluki cross, Ollie is a great jumper and will require fences of 6 foot or more
He is a gorgeous boy and has tons of affection to give
Hounds First will cover the costs of his transport, provide food, flea and wormer and cover any vet bills while he is in foster. We will also provide behavioural support from a local positive and reward based dog behaviourist. Applicants must be willing to work under guidance and support from Hounds First to set Ollie up for success and help him feel calm and happy.
Ollie is currently in kennels with our friends at Glendee in Hatfield, Hertfordshire awaiting a loving foster or potential forever home. We will update his details with more info when we have it.
