Conway is a 9 month old lurcher pup – he was injured before coming into Hounds First and has just recovered from having an operation to mend his fractured leg. He was found with 3 other young lurchers having been thrown out of a car.
He is 24 inches to the shoulder and still growing.
Conway still a big puppy needing direction and training.
He is quick to learn and eager to please and loves to be praised. He loves to have snuggles with his foster family.
He could live with dog savvy children of any age who know how to behave around dogs and younger children would need supervision.
Conway lives happily with lots of other dogs in foster – he is learning doggy manners from them. He is happy meeting dogs out and about.
He walks nicely on the lead and is trained to walk on a long line.
Conway’s house training is coming on well – he is clean in the crate.
He’s a traditional lurcher – will counter surf and steal if allowed.
Conway struggles to be left at the moment due to his poor start and time away will have to be built up gradually. Hounds First can help with advice and training on how to do this.
He has a little prey drive but can be distracted.
He will need a fence of around 6ft – he is good at jumping!
