Charlie is an 11 year old saluki lurcher boy – possibly crossed with a retriever!
He came in as an ex-working dog who was no longer wanted by his owner. He came in with the worst teeth we have ever seen and is having his dental work done before rehoming. Apart from his bad teeth he is fit and healthy though!
He stands 27 inches to the shoulder.
It is early days for Charlie but he would like someone around most of the time while he settles. He can whine and mark when left but can be left for 2 or 3 hours. This will settle with time.
He LOVES children – he adores the young boy in his foster home. He can be homed with kids of any age who know how to treat older dogs.
Charlie gets on well with the other dogs in the foster home – he could be home with other dogs or on his own if someone was around to keep him company.
He does live with a cat at the moment – he will chase it a bit but its more about the chase than doing harm. He could probably be homed with a dog savvy cat and an owner who knew how to manage it.
He is good meeting other dogs out and about – he greets them nicely.
Charlie doesn’t seem to know many commands that we have worked out yet – either that or he’s just a stubborn old fella!
He could do with a fence of 5ft or more – he has jumped a lower fence so there is definitely plenty of life left in him.
Charlie is an adorable teddy bear. So fluffy. He is an older dog that needs a retirement home. He loves to sleep and he snores! But he also loves his cuddles on the sofa, he will come and wrap his paws around you and rest his head on your legs. He loves his walks, and has taken everything in his stride in the past few weeks.
